The Matas Library has many of the books belonging to Rudolph Matas in its historical collections. The Tulane Library retains some older materials of medical and historical importance, even when they are no longer of use in clinical practice. The oldest volume in the collection is: Augerii Ferrerii (Auger Ferrier,ca.1513-1588) Liber de diebus decretoriis secundum Pythagoricam doctrinam, London, 1549.
The rare and fragile materials in the historic collections require an appointment for use. They have restricted usage. These materials are not cataloged in the online catalog, but must be searched using the Matas Library card catalog on the first level of the stacks.
